My Story

Zorana Davis

For more than twenty years, I worked in leadership roles within international organisations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), WWF International and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Throughout my career, I helped organisations improve performance through strategy, governance and leadership.

What always fascinated me, however, was not just how organisations perform—but how the people within them can truly thrive.

I worked alongside dedicated professionals managing demanding workloads, constant change and high expectations. Many cared deeply about their work, yet had little time left for their families, friends—or themselves.

I recognised those people because I was one of them.

Experiencing the impact of chronic stress firsthand taught me an important lesson: lasting performance begins with well-being. No strategy or performance system can compensate for people who are exhausted, overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves.

Discovering sophrology became a turning point in my own life. It helped me regain balance, calm an overactive mind and realise that sustainable performance doesn't come from constantly pushing harder—it comes from knowing how to pause, recover and reconnect with your inner resources.

Today, I combine two complementary worlds. I bring over twenty years of leadership experience in demanding international environments together with professional sophrology practice to help individuals navigate stress, restore balance and build resilience.

My mission has evolved—from improving organisational performance through systems and strategy to helping the people within those organisations live and work with greater calm, confidence and well-being.

I believe success should never come at the expense of your health, your relationships or your peace of mind. When people feel balanced, resilient and connected to themselves, they thrive—not only at work, but in every aspect of life.

About Sophrology

What is Sophrology?

Sophrology is a practical, science-aligned mind–body method that releases tension, restores balance, and builds emotional and physical resilience. Developed over 60 years ago by neuropsychiatrist Dr Alfonso Caycedo, it combines breathing techniques, gentle movement, relaxation, and mental imagery into short, structured exercises practised anywhere, anytime.

The name derives from the Greek sos (harmony), phren (mind), and logos (study) — the study of harmony in consciousness. Its effects are grounded in neuroscience: slow breathing, body awareness, and visualisation directly influence the nervous system, shifting it from a stress response into rest and recovery.

Sophrology is widely used across Europe in medical, educational, corporate, and sports settings, and is reimbursed by health insurance in France and Switzerland. Studies show that just four weeks of regular practice can meaningfully reduce anxiety and depression symptoms.

Sessions take as little as 10-15 minutes, can be done sitting, standing, or lying down, and suit all ages and professions. Participants typically receive an audio recording to practise daily over one to two weeks, with sessions held weekly or bi-weekly, in person or online.
